Zuleica Rosário, a talented singer from the island of Fogo, Cape Verde, is quickly gaining recognition as a passionate and authentic voice in Cape Verdean music. Born amidst Fogo’s volcanic landscapes, Zuleica grew up surrounded by the rhythms of morna, coladeira, and funaná. These genres, deeply rooted in Cape Verde’s cultural heritage, became the foundation of her artistic journey and an enduring source of inspiration.

In pursuit of higher education, Zuleica moved to Praia, the capital city of Cape Verde, where she continued to nurture her musical passion. Her performances at local venues and cultural events brought her acclaim for her ability to connect with audiences and honor the traditions of her homeland.

In 2022, Zuleica embarked on a new chapter, migrating to the United States to further her studies in nursing while continuing her musical journey. She quickly found opportunities to perform at various venues and festivals, sharing the vibrant sounds of Cape Verde with diverse audiences and building a name for herself as a cultural ambassador.

Her dedication to her craft led to the release of her debut single “Sol a Sol” in February 2024. The song, a seamless blend of kizomba and coladeira, showcases her versatility and ability to innovate while staying true to her roots. Its success has paved the way for her highly anticipated debut album, a project that promises to celebrate the richness of Cape Verdean music with a modern twist.
